Q: I've never been to AVO before, what can I expect?
Good food, good vibes, and friendly service. Come get to know us and be part of our AVO-family.
Q: Is everything vegan?
Yes, everything is 100% plant-based. Even our meats, cheeses, desserts, alcohol are all made from plants!
Q: Why did you become kosher?
We noticed there was a need for a kosher restaurant in Nashville and we decided to work with Rabbi Saul Strosberg of Congregation Sherith Israel to make this happen. We transformed our kitchen and put in processes to have our produce and supplies checked multiple times a week to meet kosher certification requirement. Please note our food is kosher certified but our bar is not.
Q: What local suppliers do you work with? Is everything organic and non-gmo?
Main farms we work with are Greener Roots Farm, Bloomsbury Farm, Barefoot Farmer, and Urban Sprout. We try to use local produce whenever possible and seek ingredients that are organic and non-gmo. It's a work in progress and we are aiming for an all organic and non-gmo menu in the future.
Q: I have specific food allergies, intolerances and restrictions. What can I eat here?
We made a booklet that shows common allergies present in all the dishes we serve and to help you navigate our menu without worrying about your allergy. Please let your server know about your allergy and we'll let our kitchen know!
Gluten: Almost all of our dishes are gluten free or can be made gluten free.
Nuts: We are a very nut heavy restaurant. If you are extremely allergic to nuts, we do not recommend dining at AVO.
Oil: We have one dish available (Green Bowl) that can be made oil free. It is completely oil free if you remove roasted asparagus from the dish.
*Please keep in mind our kitchen contains all types of nuts (lots of cashews and walnuts) and gluten, and cross contamination is possible.
Q: Can I bring my own bottle of wine?
Yes you can! There is a corkage fee of $20.
Q: Can I bring my own cake / dessert?
Yes, but we will have to serve on disposable plates and use disposable forks. Because we are a kosher restaurant, we cannot serve outside food on our plates and use our silverware. There is also a cake cutting fee of $2/person.
Q: Are gift cards available for purchase?
Yes, you can purchase in person at the restaurant or you can call us (615) 329-2377 to purchase over the phone and we can mail it to you or recipient directly.
Q: Do you deliver?
We do not deliver; however, you can find us on Postmates and Doordash . If you are too far out, delivery may not be available. In the past, customers have called a regular Uber or Lyft to pick up their order from the restaurant. If you'd like to go this route, call us, place an order, pay in advance, and let us know the name of your Uber/Lyft driver.
Q: Is your patio dog friendly?
Yes it is! Bring your pups and let us shower them with love! We have avocado shaped doggie treats to share that we make from scratch.
Q: Do you sell your sauces and dressings?
Not as of now but we are working on it! Stay tuned.
